Adaptive snowsp orts such as skiing and snowboarding are very popular activities with clients at Physio Matters.

We work closely with Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK) at the Chill Factore, an indoor snow centre in Manchester, where the DSUK team work with a range of clients who access snowsports as part of their rehabilitation, for exercise, and for enjoyment too.

For over 30 years, DSUK has provided adaptive equipment, special instruction and support to enable those with a disability to experience the joy of skiing and believe that anyone can take part in and enjoy the, regardless of their disability.

Our physios include experienced skiers who can accompany you on to the slopes, together with the DSUK instructors. Options include upright skiing, sit skiing and adapted snowboards. We can arrange your sessions and hire skis, snowboards and boots for you at the venue – but you will need your own socks and gloves!

Adapted snowsports are exciting and exhilarating activities for individuals who want to learn a new sport, take on a challenge, experience a different and stimulating environment, and improve their physical fitness, core stability and stamina. It can also lead to other opportunities such as skiing holidays.

Improves core stability, balance, stamina, coordination and social participation.
